Site Updates & News

This site is currently under the early stages of construction. Its development and on-line publishing will be done in phases as part of a long term project. Please be patient with our efforts to bring the site fully on-line. For those who are interested in following the sites growth we suggest that you "bookmark" it by adding its web address into the "My Favorites" section of your web browser.

If you know of any postcard, token or medal issues for any South Africa or Namibia mining locations or mines which we have so far not include on this site please send us their full details together with a clear picture(s), if possible. We would be more than glad to include details of them in future site updates.

• 04/03/06 - Basic Site Launch.
• November 2009 - As of this time approximately 200 postcard images have been added too the site out of a growing total target of at least 1000. The section on SWA diamond mining is being actively developed as are the base plus other metal mining sections of the site which include new sections for Impala Platinum, the Khan Mine (SWA) and Messina Mine. The Premier Diamond Mine section is almost complete as is the section on the Chinese Miners on the Rand. There are huge sections for which, as yet nothing has been done. These include the 30 or so Rand Gold Mines (to be contained in their own sub-section of the site) plus associated subject matter (i.e. the Rand Strikes of 1907 and 1922) plus the Kimberley Diamond Mines, In addition the copper mines and smelter at Tsumeb (SWA) will also warrant its own sub-section. By design nothing has yet been done on the tokens section of the site.
